Guided Retreat : Friday 22nd – 28th January 2016
(Individual days can be attended)
(This retreat is only open for those who have received a Highest Yoga Tantra Empowerment within the tradition of Kadampa Buddhism)

This is a precious opportunity to gain a heartfelt and deep experience of the joyful practice of Vajrayogini.  By relying upon Buddha Vajrayogini we will discover the true nature of our world and the real meaning of Tantra – the inner realisation that directly protects us from all ordinary appearances and conceptions – the root of samsara.

The retreat will emphasise deepening our experience of both generation stage and completion stage (meditating on the channels, winds, and drops) using the Vajrayogini “Blissful Path” sadhana. There will be three sessions of guided retreat every day and in each evening we will practice the full sadhana “Quick Path to Bliss” which will include a tsog offering.  This will be a truly meaningful and joyful week!

bam“Just as fire quickly destroys objects,
The recitations and meditations of Heruka and Vajrayogini
Quickly destroy suffering.
When such practitioners experience death,
Various emanations will appear to them
With offerings such as flowers and beautiful music,
And lead them to the Pure Land of Keajra.
For such practitioners, death is just mere name –
They are simply moved from the prison of samsara
To the Pure Land of Buddha Heruka.” – Buddha Shakyamuni

The environment of Bodhisattva KMC is very relaxing and there is plenty of time between retreat sessions to enjoy our café, to meet and chat with other retreaters and the community of Bodhisattva KMC, and to enjoy walking and gentle strolls along the Brighton and Hove sea front and promenade. The peaceful surroundings of Bodhisattva KMC help people to create a comfortable space within their own minds.

The retreat schedule

The retreat will begin Friday 22nd January in the evening at 7.30 pm with an introduction and conclude on Thursday 28th January at 1.00pm with lunch. There will be four sessions of retreat each day and, to preserve the peaceful experience of the retreat, silence will be observed during the mornings.

The session times will be as follows:

Session 1: 8.00 – 9.30 am
Session 2: 11.30 am – 1.00 pm
Session 3: 4.00 – 5.30 pm
Session 4: 7.00 – 9.15 pm (Quick Path with Tsog offerings)

Each session will consist of Blissful Path prayers, a short Buddhist teaching to introduce the meditation for the session, and a guided meditation.

Retreaters are are encouraged to attend whatever sessions they can within their own capacity and in a way that feels comfortable and natural.
