  • Is Enlightenment Possible?

In this series, we are exploring the big question – Is Enlightenment possible?  One of the clearest presentations of the path to Enlightenment is a short poem called, The Three Principal Aspects of the Path. This legendary brief poem was composed 600 years ago by the extraordinary Spiritual Guide and founder of the New Kadampa lineage, Je Tsongkhapa. In merely 15 verses, Je Tsongkhapa distils the vastness of the Buddhist stages of the path to enlightenment to three essential realizations, or experiential understandings. Gaining experience of these three – renunciation, bodhichitta, and the wisdom realizing emptiness – will give us the psychological and spiritual tools we need to transform every aspect of our life into our spiritual path, confidently and joyfully.

    Everyone welcome.

    DECEMBER COURSE

    SEEING LIFE AS A DREAM

In this course, Gen Thekchen, will teach powerful and practical meditations on the true nature of our reality. By realising our world is merely an appearance to mind, like a dream, we can learn to let go of our daily problems, live lightly in our world, and keep a stable and happy mind.

We’ve all had the experience of waking up from a nightmare, and the feeling of euphoria when we realise it wasn’t real. In the same way, by meditating on Buddha’s teachings on the true nature of our reality, we can realise our world is illusory, like a dream, and experience the sublime euphoria and peace that arises from this wisdom.

Gen Thekchen will take us on a spiritual journey step-by-step through the development of each of these three understandings, based on the commentary by Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche in his most recent book, The Mirror of Dharma (with Additions). This is the perfect preparation for the January retreats that will include two weeks of guided meditations based on The Mirror of Dharma (with Additions).
