FUTURE COURSES

about this course

Taming the Wild Elephant Mind

June 17, 24, July 1

At times it can feel we have no control over our mind – our mind feels like it’s a balloon in the wind, blown by changing circumstances.  In this course Gen Thekchen will explore how we can learn to control our mind through the practice of mindfulness and alertness, both in meditation and in daily life.

Mindfulness and alertness are absolutely essential both to successful meditation and to keeping a peaceful and clear mind when we are out of meditation.  They help us to keep our mind focused and enable us to be the master of our mind rather than a slave to it.

Join us for this practical series on how to tame our wild elephant mind.

June 17:  What are mindfulness and alertness and how do they protect the mind?

June 24:  Taming the mind in daily life.

  • Happiness, Success & The Law of Karma

Why are some people naturally happy and successful, while others experience problems and obstacles? Why is it that when we get what we want, we often fail to derive satisfaction from having it? Why is contentment and good fortune elusive, while difficulties arise effortlessly? How can I change this situation?

Buddha gave clear answers to all of these questions in his teaching on the law of karma. During this course, Gen Kelsang Thekchen will explain this universal law and how to live in accordance with it. Don’t miss this opportunity to learn how to create good fortune and eliminate problems at their root.

    Everyone welcome!
