Training The Mind Weekend Retreat

On this meditation retreat we will be emphasizing Buddha’s teachings on training the mind (or “Lojong” in Tibetan) whereby, through the practice of meditation, we can open up our heart, improve our relationships with others, and find greater peace and fulfillment in our life.

We will also be looking at powerful meditation techniques that will enable us to practically transform our day-to-day lives – including even the most demanding and difficult situations – into opportunities for personal and spiritual development. These ancient meditative techniques have been tried and tested for centuries and lead to an experience of unchanging mental freedom and happiness.

The retreat venue

The environment of Bodhisattva KMC is very relaxing and there is plenty of time between retreat sessions to enjoy our café, to meet and chat with other retreaters and the community of Bodhisattva KMC, and to enjoy walking and gentle strolls along the Brighton and Hove sea front and promenade. The peaceful surroundings of Bodhisattva KMC help people to create a comfortable space within their own minds.

About the teacher

Gen Chonden is an ordained Buddhist Monk and has been studying and teaching under the guidance of Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso for over 20 years. He is a very experienced and inspiring teacher and always brings a wealth of personal experience into his teachings.

7.30 – 8.45 pm : Introduction

Saturday:
09.30 – 11.00 am : Teaching
12.00 pm – 1.00 pm : Meditation
Lunch 1.00 pm
4.30 – 6.00 pm : Teaching
7.30 – 8.30 pm : Meditation

Sunday:
09.30 – 11.00 am : Teaching
12.00 pm – 1.00 pm : Meditation
