This retreat can be attended for individual days – see below. On this special week retreat, guided by visiting teacher Gen Rabten, we will gain practical experience of the meditations contained within Geshe Kelsang Gyatso’s new book How To Transform Your Life. This book is an indispensable guide on how to use Buddhist meditation to build the foundation of inner peace within our busy and often stressful lives and how to enter, make progress, and complete the Buddhist path to enlightenment.

The meditations will be steeped in Buddhist wisdom and are perfectly suited to modern life. This retreat is perfect for anyone wishing to deepen their understanding of Buddhist philosophy, the Buddhist way of life, and how to develop a powerful daily meditation practice.

The retreat will be based upon the teachings at this year’s NKT Summer Festival 2017, but it is not necessary to have attended this festival to attend this retreat.

The retreat venue – Bodhisattva KMC

Buddhist meditation retreats

The environment of Bodhisattva KMC is very relaxing, and there is plenty of time between retreat sessions to enjoy our café, to meet and chat with other retreaters and the community of Bodhisattva KMC, and to enjoy walking and gentle strolls along the Brighton and Hove sea front and promenade. The peaceful surroundings of Bodhisattva KMC help people to create a comfortable space within their own minds.

The Teacher – Gen Kelsang Rabten

Retreat Teacher Gen Rabten

Gen Kelsang Rabten is the NKT-IKBU National Spiritual Director of Kadampa Buddhism for Australia, New Zealand and South East Asia and the Resident Teacher at Kadampa Meditation Centre Hong Kong.

Gen Rabten has trained under the guidance of his Spiritual Guide, Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche, for over 20 years.

His teachings are precise and compassionate, and he exemplifies the essence of the modern Kadampa’s way of life, inspiring many people to embark on this meaningful path.
