We like science because it is reproducible, can be proven or disproven, and is based on evidence. Buddhism is an inner science that approaches our inner life in a scientific way. It asks and answers questions such as, “What is the precise cause of a good, happy life?” And, “What are the specific causes of our discomfort, insecurity and anxiety?” “What is the pathway forward?”
The Four Noble Truths, Buddha’s first teachings, are a practical presentation that answers these questions. They explain how discomfort and pain arise, and how to find freedom from suffering.
Each class is self-contained, so you are welcome to join at any time. No previous experience with meditation is necessary. You don’t need to bring anything with you, and the meditation is conducted on chairs (there are also cushions available if you prefer).
Everyone is welcome.
