The Wisdom of No-self | Day Course | December 14th

THE WISDOM OF NO-SELF

with Gen Kelsang Jigme

Emptiness is the way things really are.  It is the way things exist as opposed to the way they appear.

In general, ‘emptiness’ means the non-existence of something.  In this context, it is easy to misinterpret exactly what Buddha is saying doesn’t exist, so that our meditation is incorrect.  No matter how much we meditate on such an emptiness, this will not help to solve the problem of the delusions.

The actual object of negation of emptiness is the things that we normally see or perceive.  When Buddha says ‘emptiness’, this ‘empty’ is merely the non-existence of the things that we normally see or perceive.  But this does not mean that nothing exists!  All phenomena do exist.  The way they exist is as mere name.

Discover how to meditate correctly and effectively on the liberating truth of emptiness, to bring all suffering finally to an end.

Everybody is welcome.
