Meditation and Mental Health
with Katy Ellison, Tuesdays, 11.15am-12.30pm
We all struggle at times with mental health. Whether it’s anxiety, anger, frustration, or simply mental exhaustion, we all go through it at times. Meditation is an effective way to train the mind, to become more peaceful and feel more in control of our emotions. This series will explore a variety of meditations to help improve our mental health and well being.
May 3rd – A meditation for inner peace
May 10th – A meditation to be less distracted
May 17th – A meditation to reduce stress and anxiety
May 24th – A meditation for healing ourself
May 31st – A meditation for accepting change
These classes are organized as short courses, covering a wide range of engaging topics.
The classes include 2 guided meditations and a practical teaching on how to apply the ancient wisdom of Buddha’s teachings to busy modern life. Not to be missed!
The classes conclude with the opportunity to discuss the class with the teacher and/or other members of the class. Refreshments are provided.
Teachers
Katy Ellison has been a student of Kadampa Buddhism for over many years and has taught meditation extensively at the Kadampa Centre in Hong Kong. She presents the teachings in a very clear and practical way, making it easy to put into practice.
