Course info
A Weekend of Learning how to develop concentration, including a silent day retreat.
This is a very special opportunity to experience the deep inner peace that comes from a concentrated mind.
You can attend this as either just a day of silent retreat or as a weekend event.
Life can be hectic and overwhelming; it’s easy to be “on” all the time without ever taking the time to be quiet and enjoy a simple day of rest and recharging. On Saturday, there is a wonderful opportunity to take a break and enjoy a day of silence, meditation, rest and reflection. This retreat will include guided meditations on the breath using the very simple yet profound mantra; OM AH HUM, the mantra of all Buddhas. Gen Thekchen will guide 5 short meditation sessions to help lead the mind to a state of deep concentration and peace. There will be short breaks to go for a walk, read and contemplate in silence. You’ll even have the option to securely put away your phone for the day to help stop distractions!
The venue
The environment of Bodhisattva KMC is very relaxing and there is plenty of time between retreat sessions to enjoy our café, to meet and chat with other retreatants and the community of Bodhisattva KMC, and to enjoy walking and gentle strolls along the Brighton and Hove sea front and promenade. The peaceful surroundings of Bodhisattva KMC help people to create a comfortable space within their own minds.
During the breaks our café is open for you to relax, unwind and enjoy light and tasty refreshments.
