About Meditation Retreat
During a meditation retreat we take a complete break from our normal daily activities and emphasise the practice of meditation. Retreats can last from one day to several weeks (or even months). They are a special time to reflect, practice meditation, and find a deeper sense of contentment and fulfillment from within.
Meditation retreats can either be self-guided our guided by a teacher in a group depending on the type of retreat. People who are on retreat may choose to be part silent (or completely silent) in order to help preserve the experience of their retreat.
A ‘solitary retreat’ is when someone chooses to engage in meditation retreat on their own and a ‘group retreat’ is when someone chooses to attend a retreat as part of a larger group. Retreats are attended by men and women from all walks of life.
At Bodhisattva KMC food, accommodation, and guidance are offered throughout the retreat. This allows a retreat participant to focus exclusively on their retreat to gain maximum benefit.
