Anxiety, worry and stress are all reactions of our own mind to situations that we find difficult.
Sometimes it is impossible to alter the circumstances in which we find ourselves: in this case, we are winding ourselves up unnecessarily if we worry about them – getting agitated cannot help in any way, so we should try to accept things as they are.
On the other hand, sometimes we can find a way of fixing a problem or improving a situation. We can usually do this best when we are relaxed and peaceful.
Either way, it is to our advantage if we make an effort to control our own emotional reactions to difficult situations. We can do this by practising meditation, which is a guaranteed method for eliminating negativities and worries from our mind, and making ourselves peaceful and calm.
