On this weekend course we will look at how we can attain Tranquil Abiding – the state of perfect meditative concentration. Through developing concentration our distracting thoughts subside and our mind becomes calm and smooth. A person with good concentration has control over their mind, like a well-trained horse that obeys its rider, and finds it easier to gain experience of Dharma and complete all of the stages of the path to enlightenment. Pure concentration also helps to make our body and mind comfortable and flexible and is essential if we wish to remain at peace in daily life. The weekend will conclude on Sunday with a half-day silent retreat training in the methods for attaining perfect concentration.
