In this weekend retreat we will practise uplifting meditations on loving kindness, compassion, and learn about the renowned Buddhist practice of “taking and giving” whereby we can improve the strength and power of our mind to transform our world.

Through awakening our compassion we improve our good heart, peace of mind, and empathy for others. Compassion makes our actions positive and meaningful and brings greater fulfilment, harmony, and happiness into our life.

On this course we will also learn how to practise meditation on compassion, together with visualization and prayers to Avalokiteshvara, the Buddha of Compassion (Tibetan Chenrezig), so that we can increase our power to help ourselves and others and make our greatest contribution to world peace.

The retreat venue

The environment of Bodhisattva KMC is very relaxing and there is plenty of time between retreat sessions to enjoy our café, to meet and chat with other retreaters and the community of Bodhisattva KMC, and to enjoy walking and gentle strolls along the Brighton and Hove sea front and promenade. The peaceful surroundings of Bodhisattva KMC help people to create a comfortable space within their own minds.

The retreat schedule

The retreat will begin Friday 28th April in the evening at 7.30 pm with an introduction and conclude on Sunday 30th April at 2.00pm (after lunch). The retreat session times will be as follows:

Friday:
7.30 – 8.45 pm : Introduction

Saturday:
9.30 – 10.45 am : Meditation session
11.45 am – 1.00 pm : Meditation session
(Lunch 1.00 pm – 2.30 pm)
4.00 – 5.15 pm : Meditation session
7.30 – 8.45 pm : Meditation session

Sunday:
9.30 – 10.45 am : Meditation session
11.45 am – 1.00 pm : Meditation session
(Lunch 1.00 pm – 2.30 pm)
